Perry Stained Glass Studio began in Issaquah, WA in 1971 in two storage units that we

remodeled into an office and work space because no affordable storefronts were available.

That also meant no water, no heat and no bathroom facilities.   (we refer to that period as our starving artists in the garret time).

The first commission was a series of windows for a church in Carlin, Nevada. We then made a five year stop in Gilman Village in Issaquah before purchasing the old brick telephone building on Front Street in 1981, where we are still located.

We are a family operation with Jim, Liz and son Jim all busy with each project. All members of the Perry family have put in their time, volunteer or not, at the studio with son Jim continuing to be a major part. We have remained a family studio by choice because we prefer to have “hands on” every project through fabrication and installation.

The studio has been a fully certified full service studio by the Stained Glass Association of America since 1977, with Liz having served as President from 1986 to1988. From design to installation we have been fortunate to work with talented designers and craftsmen in stained glass to give us range and versatility, most notability Roy Coomber of England and Mark Eric Gulsrud of Tacoma, WA.

The one thing that makes working in stained glass rewarding is that it is a constant study of subject, design and color.
